Ficksburg - No arrests have been made following a farm attack on a young woman near Ficksburg in the early hours of this morning.
This is according to Free State Agriculture’s Tommie Esterhuyse.
He told OFM News this afternoon that police are continuing their investigation for the two suspects.
The young woman, who lives alone on the farm, was awoken at 01:00 this morning when she heard her house’s back door being forced open. She locked herself in the master bedroom and called for help on a two-way radio.
The men later made off with her bakkie.
Jordaan Marais, head of the local security response group, told OFM News earlier that it is quite likely that the conversations over the radio, which were overheard by the robbers, led to them abandoning their plans and fleeing the scene.
