HRC urges Matjhabeng to comply with their constitutional responsibilities─── REFILWE GAESWE 15:49 Tue, 25 Aug 2015
Bloemfontein - The Human Rights Commission in the Free State says they're concerned about the limited water supply that will be provided by the Sedibeng Water Board to the Matjhabeng Municipality.
Provincial manager Buang Jones urges Matjhabeng comprising Virginia, Welkom, Hennenman, Ventersdorp and Alanridge to comply with their obligation of section 32 of the constitution.
This after Sedibeng Water said they were to put a 20% water restriction to Matjhabeng.
The municipality says Sedibeng will be reducing 80 percent of their water supply, due to non-payment. Jones says it is not fair for people who have always paid their water bills.
