Gift of the Givers on standby in Lagos | News Article

Lagos - Gift of the Givers has search and rescue as well as medical teams on standby but will not respond to the Nigerian building collapse if an international call for assistance is not made by the Nigerian government.

This according to the humanitarian organisation's Imtiaz Sooliman, after a guest house at the Synagogue Church of All Nations in Lagos collapsed on Friday.

According to Sooliman a Gift of the Giver’s team is in Lagos to locate a business man from Durban, Daniel Chetty, who was injured in the incident.

Gift of the Giver’s teamleader in Nigeria, Sheik Mohammed Jamie told OFM News that five local team members is in Lagos at the moment waiting to enter a hospital.

Sooliman says the team was briefed to assess the situation at hospitals and at the church site. This information will then be reported back to Dirco.

The building that collapsed houses visitors of a popular church run by preacher TB Joshua which attracts thousands of pilgrims from other countries.
