Zuma to launch 16 Days of Activism campaign in Reiger Park | News Article

Johannesburg - President Jacob Zuma is expected to launch the 16th edition of the global 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children campaign during an event in Reiger Park, Ekurhuleni, this morning.

The Presidency said in a statement this year’s campaign is presented under the theme “Count Me In. Together moving a non-violent South Africa forward”.

The international campaign is observed annually from 25 November to 10 December to raise awareness of the negative impact that violence has on women, children and society.

The community of Reiger Park was shocked to its core earlier this year after the brutal death of toddler Taegrin Morris.

The four-year-old boy died after being dragged along outside his parents vehicle when hijackers raced off while he was still attached by his seatbelt.
