Cape Town - A Cape Town police detective has been arrested for allegedly withdrawing a case of assault against three youths.
The trio's accused of assaulting a Manenberg woman last month in a racist attack in the parking lot of the Stadium on Main Shopping Centre in Claremont.
Delia Adonis (52) says she was kneed to the ground, kicked and racially abused by a group of young and drunk men believed to be UCT students.
But this morning, the detective tasked with investigating her case, was taken into custody.
Western Cape police spokesperson Frederick van Wyk says the officer withdrew the case, without Adonis' knowledge or consent.
