Massive fire out of control in Cape Peninsula─── 08:15 Mon, 02 Mar 2015
Cape Town - Reports flooding through via social media indicate that a massive fire, which started around 1pm yesterday has spread across the Cape Peninsula overnight.
Some 300 people are fighting the blaze - more than 100 firefighters have been dispatched to Ou Kaapse Weg.
Noordhoek and surrounds seem to be hardest hit. Cape Town Fire and Rescue Services spokesperson, Theo Lane says strong winds are fanning the flames.
Meanwhile one of the residents in the area, Linda Wilson, says the thick smoke is clouding the area and the blaze looks like a firewall. She says a call has gone out for volunteers and chainsaws to help fighting the fire
