Bloemfontein - The FF Plus is expected to lay a charge of corruption against government and political leadership for South Africa’s alleged involvement in the Fifa scandal.
The party’s, Anton Alberts, says the charge relates to similar charges laid by the American Attorney General emanating from a three year long FBI investigation. The involvement in bribery to ensure the 2010 soccer bit for South Africa by local officials is indicated in the FBI investigation.
Alberts says the party wants the Hawks to investigate the Department of Sport and Recreation, political appointees, leadership and members of the Bid Committee to ensure everything is above board locally. He says if more people are implicated apart from the two referred to by the FBI, it should be known.
