Solidarity and Telkom might meet in court over retrenchment plans─── 18:11 Wed, 01 Jul 2015
Johannesburg - Solidarity might be taking Telkom to court on Tuesday next week, in a bid to stop them from cutting over 7 000 jobs.
The trade union's Johan Kruger says Telkom has already served some of its employees with letters of notice. Solidarity has given Telkom until Friday to respond to their move to challenge the retrenchment plan.
Kruger further explains that Telkom is not following proper procedures.
Solidarity together with two workers’ unions - the South African Communications Union (SACU) and Communication Workers Union (CWU), served papers on Telkom yesterday to obtain an interdict in the labour court, to prevent Telkom’s move.
