Bloemfontein - Roland Schoeman clocked the fourth-fastest 50 metres freestyle time in the world this year on his way to topping the qualifiers on day five of the South African Aquatic Championships in Durban.
The veteran Olympian raced through the pool to clock a time of 22.04 seconds and ease into the semi-finals.
Schoeman's time was also comfortably inside the 22.33 seconds Commonwealth Games qualifying time.
South African swimming sensation, Chad le Clos, who has already won five titles this week, was quickest in the 200m individual medley, setting a time of 2 minutes 06.36 seconds.
