Johannesburg - Minister of Sports Fikile Mbalula has denied suggestions that tightening efforts in getting players of colour to represent national teams is an electioneering stunt.
Sporting unions in South Africa face possible sanctions if they aren't willing to implement transformation.
Among others funding by government could be withheld to federations that fail to comply - the last straw could be to deregister entities.
The ministry has called on 60% of representation for players of colour across all sporting codes with Rugby, Cricket and Football being the focal point.
