Koppies power down due to cable theft | News Article
Koppies - Residents in Koppies in the Ngwathe Local Municipality are currently without electricity due to cable theft that took place around 2am this morning.

Municipal spokesperson Steve Naale says perpetrators allegedly cut down an 11 meter long electrical cable so as to remove cable.

He says affected areas include the CDB, as well as both the sewer and water treatment plants. Municipal technicians are on site working to restore power in the affected areas.

He says th cable theft has also affected water supply in the area, including Kwakwatsi township. “We therefore request municipal citizens to exercise maximum patience as the work might take the whole day and assist both the municipality and the police with information that could lead to the arrest of the criminals,” he says.
