Currie Cup Premier Division Qualifiers get underway─── 16:30 Tue, 09 Jun 2015
The Currie Cup Premier Division qualifiers get underway this weekend with the first division teams battling out for the 8th spot in the worlds’ toughest domestic rugby competition.
The Griquas are seen as the pre-tournament favourites, but will have to deal with the Leopards, first division champions, the Griffons as well as teams like the SWD Eagles and Boland Cavaliers first.
The men from Kimberley kick-off their campaign with a tricky trip down to East London to face the Border Bulldogs on Friday evening.
The Leopards themselves hit the road first up with a trip down to George to tackle the ever difficult and unpredictable Eagles.
Eagles coach, former Springbok and Cheetahs fullback Bevin Fortuin told OFM Sport that despite a lack of proper preparation, they are waiting for the side from Potchefstroom.
Both these matches kick-off at 19:00 on Friday evening, while on Saturday the Cavaliers host the Griffons in Malmesbury.
