The Griquas are locked and loaded to get their Currie Cup Premier Division qualifiers underway when they tackle the Border Bulldog in East London on Friday.
Although the Bulldogs aren’t a traditionally strong team, a trip down to East London is always tough and the in the Vodacom Cup they proved that they can hold their own at home when they nearly beat the Free State.
The Griquas sees the return of former Toyota Cheetahs fullback Riaan Viljoen from Japan, while Varsity Cup winning Shimlas captain, AJ Coertzen has also joined the team.
Coertzen will start at wing for the Peacock Blues, while the experienced Viljoen warms the bench.
Assistant coach, Peter Engeldow told OFM Sport that the competition and gaining promotion to the Premier Division is of massive importance to them.
The match at the BCM Stadium kicks off at 19:00 on Friday evening, while at the same time the Leopards tackle the SWD Eagles at Outeniqua Park in George.
Saturday afternoon the Boland Cavaliers host the Griffons in Malmesbury.
