Leopards set sights on CC 1st Division title | News Article

The Leopards will look to clinch the Currie Cup First Division title in style with evening with a full house of victories for the season when they face the South Western Districts Eagles in the final of the competition.

The Eagles will need to find a way to do something that no other team has managed to do in 11 previous attempts this season, and that is to beat the prolific Leopards. 

Both the teams in this years’ final, were ironically the two losing semi-finalists in last years competition when the Griffons won the title.

Tonight’s final will also be Leopards coach Robert du Preez’s last act as the teams mentor with the former Springbok scrumhalf heading to Durban to take up a coaching role at the Sharks.

Tonight’s final at Profert Olën Park in Potchefstroom kicks off at 18:00.

At 14:25 the Steval Pumas will face the Down Touch Griffons in the U19 B Division Final, which will be followed by the Under 21 B-Division decider between the Limpopo Blue Bulls and the SWD Eagles at 16h00.
