WHAT IN THE WORLD! - Drum roll world record holder rushed to hospital after setting Guinness Book mark | News Article

A drummer had to be rushed to A&E with an injured wrist after beating the world record for the longest ever drum roll.

Jayson Brinklet set the new record last Saturday after drumming for 12 hours, five minutes and five seconds.

But as soon as the 44-year-old finished, he had to go straight to hospital for treatment for his injured wrist.

The graphic designer said: “It was so tough - a lot harder than I thought it was going to be.

“About eight hours in, my wrist just went. It was very hard. I was in tremendous pain but I kept pushing and pushing.
“At the end I was in a right mess - my wrist just completely seized up.”

The record will be added to the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest individual drum roll ever done.

Jayson, from Dagenham, Essex, beat the old record by five minutes and four seconds.
