Beachgoers enjoying a summer weekend were surprised to find a scaly visitor on the shore.
An 2.1m alligator was found just along the coastline on Pawleys Island in South Carolina as crowds began to gather around the reptile.
While it's uncommon alligators to be spotted in salt water environments, it's not unheard of. Police later arrived on scene and helped relocate the gator away from the packed beach.
