London - Vandals have targeted British businessman Shrien Dewani's London mansion by throwing paint across the driveway.
The attack came within hours of the businessman returning to Britain having been acquitted of masterminding the murder of his wife, Anni Hindocha Dewani, during the couple's honeymoon in Cape Town in 2010.
A court on Monday granted his application to be discharged because prosecutors failed to provide credible evidence he hired hitmen to kill his wife four years ago.
Judge Jeanette Traverso found the state provided no credible evidence to convict Dewani and granted an application to discharge the case.
Dewani was thought to have been staying in London when vandals targeted his home near Bristol in south-west England.
White paint has been thrown across the entrance to the villa, splattering the wall and electronic gates as well as covering a large area of driveway.
Police have confirmed no formal complaint has been made about the incident.
Dewani has kept a low profile since arriving back in the UK yesterday.
The 34-year-old was whisked through security at London’s airport before leaving via side an entrance.
However, the huge media presence near his home has highlighted continuing scrutiny he has faced.

Anni's parents say they want to spend time with their family before deciding on any civil challenge against their son-in-law.
Anni’s family remain adamant they were let down by the South African legal system after Dewani walked free, but the family’s plans to pursue a civil case against Dewani in a British court looks set to be on hold.
They claim the British businessman lied to them and they would never have let their daughter marry him if details about his bisexuality, which emerged in court, had been known earlier.
Any claim against Dewani is expected to include the costs of the couple’s wedding of R3,5 million.
