Bill Cosby not charged by LA Prosecutor─── 11:19 Wed, 17 Dec 2014
Allegations that the comedian molested a 15-year-old girl at the Playboy mansion have been ruled too old to be pursued by prosecutors.
A Los Angeles prosecutor decided not to charge Bill Cosby over a claim that he sexually assaulted a woman decades ago.
Sky News reports the claim, brought by Judy Huth, was deemed to have been too old and surpassed the state's statute of limitations.
"Given that 40 years have passed since the alleged incident, prosecution (on a misdemeanor count) ... is declined due to the expiration of the statute of limitations," Deputy District Attorney Victor Rodriguez wrote, according to Sky News.
Cosby testified in 2005 that he gave the National Enquirer an exclusive interview about looming sexual-assault accusations by a Canadian woman against him in exchange for the tabloid eliminating a second accuser's story.
The A-lister has seen numerous dates on a comedy tour cancelled and development of a sitcom halted.
Cosby earlier spoke out about the sexual assault allegations against him, asking "the black media" to stay objective as victims continue to come forward.
