New KZN DA leader elected─── 07:09 Sun, 26 Apr 2015
Richards Bay - eThekwini DA councillor and caucus leader Zwakele Mncwango has been elected as the party's provincial leader for KwaZulu-Natal.
Mncwango proved to be the more favoured candidate at the party’s closely contested provincial elective conference in Richards Bay yesterday.
Mncwango unseated Sizwe Mchunu by a mere five votes. The DA’s eThekwini caucus leader secured 143 votes, while Mchunu received 138. There were three spoilt ballots.
Speaking moments after his victory, Mncwango did not mince his words about where he sees the party going under his leadership.
