A 30-year-old man has been arrested in Thabong, Welkom, after a tip-off that a 17 year old sells drugs to his school mates during breaktime.
Free State Police spokesperson Stephen Thakeng said the 30-year-old suspect had sent his 17-year-old brother to sell on his behalf at the school. Members of Welkom Public Order Policing received information that led them to the house where the alleged drug dealer was identified.

Police arrived at the house on Tuesday (08/08) morning and allegedly caught the suspect red-handed selling drugs to various people. “Permission was asked to search the premises, which was granted,” Thakeng said. They found dagga with an estimated street value of more than R5,000.
The man was arrested for dealing in dagga and will appear in Welkom Magistrate’s Court soon.
