Kestell police acted on information regarding suspected drug dealing at a residence in Tlholong this week.

Police conducted a search and uncovered a black plastic bag containing dagga, resulting in the arrest of a 30-year-old suspect.

While on site, authorities received additional information about more people in possession of drugs. Pursuing this lead, the team located the suspects, two of whom resisted arrest and assaulted a police officer. Law enforcement successfully apprehended both individuals.

‘Officers sustained multiple injuries’

The suspects, aged 29 and 30, face charges including assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, and drug possession. The officers involved sustained multiple injuries and received medical treatment at a nearby hospital.

The suspects are set to appear in the Kestell magistrate’s court soon.
