NSPCA welcomes TripAdvisor decision on captive animals─── ANDRE GROBLER 14:36 Mon, 24 Oct 2016
Bloemfontein - The National SPCA say they fully support a decision by global travel website, TripAdvisor, to no longer allow users to book activities that involve contact with endangered species or captive wild animals.
The NSPCA has for a long time campaigned for the public not to support activities which involve interaction with wild animals in captive situations such as elephant rides, petting of lion cubs and other wild animals.
The NSPCA's Christine Kuch says profit-making activities compromise the welfare of animals.
Kuch say they will monitor the situation, because the past has shown that similar decisions, by other organisations, quickly change due to the effect on profit margins.
