Grade 12 exams went well in North West | News Article

Rustenburg - Despite threats of community protests, Grade 12 examinations have gone well in the North West province, the provincial department of education said on Monday.

“National Senior Certificate [NSC] examinations started on 26 October 2015 and the department announced no major irregularities reported. In areas where civil protests occurred, the department moderated the situation by moving candidates to less risky examination centres with on-going monitoring by the department’s senior management,” said spokesperson Elias Malindi.

The final paper was completed on Friday and marking of scripts started on Monday. A total of 33,844 candidates wrote the Grade 12 examination in North West.

It was expected that marking would be concluded by December 14 and results would be announced on January 6 at Hoërskool Wolmaransstad with supplementary examinations scheduled for February 10 to March 17 next year.
