Sadtu still waiting for minister's response on Motheo─── REFILWE GAESWE 09:36 Sun, 10 Apr 2016
Bloemfontein - The South African Democratic Teachers Union (Sadtu) in the Free State has expressed disappointment in the manner in which the Department of Higher Education and Training is handling issues at Motheo TVET College in Bloemfontein.
This follows Sadtu’s march last month, against the institution’s principal.
The workers’ union took a step further and delivered a memorandum of grievances to the higher education department and Minister Blade Nzimande’s office.
According to provincial secretary, Mokholoane Moloi, they are still waiting for Nzimande’s response.
“As a follow-up, the organisation in the province has written to the minister again, requesting him to seriously consider the demands that we have submitted. In that particular letter, we have made it clear that the only option that is left for us, is to organise a march to the head office. We have been marching to the Motheo offices in Bloemfontein where the principal is based, but with the reluctance of the office of the minister to deal with our issues.”OFM News
