Bloemfontein - The situation is currently calm on the road linking the N6 to the Dewetsdorp Road, south of Bloemfontein.
This follows protests by Dinaweng residents of the informal settlement area alongside the road, earlier this week.
They blockaded the highway with rocks, rubbish, bushes, burnt mattresses and tyres. Free State police spokesperson Ikobeng Hlubi says ten people were arrested on Tuesday.
They will appear in court today or tomorrow to face charges of public violence.
