NW detainees still at large after escape─── DANE BEISHEIM 07:40 Sat, 02 Jul 2016
Mogwase - North West police are still searching for eight of the ten awaiting trial detainees who escaped from the Mogwase Correctional Centre near Rustenburg on June 17.
Police spokesperson, Sabata Mokgwabone, says Oscar Sibiya, Luckymore Mutasa, Mandla Mokoena, Emmanuel Banda Hobe, Chris Sithole, Knowledge Benny Machesa, Alfonso Alfred Mpofu and Cleophus Tapiwa are all wanted for various crimes. These include murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, burglary as well as the possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition.
Loyd Mulungu and Joseph Miambu were rearrested on June 21 close to the South African and Zimbabwean border. Both appeared in the Mogwase Magistrate's Court two days later and are expected back in court on July 19. They face an additional charge of escaping from lawful custody.
