Pellissier murder suspect expected in court on Monday─── REFILWE GAESWE 11:45 Sat, 23 Jul 2016
Bloemfontein - A Bloemfontein man who was arrested in connection with the murder of a retired Transnet train driver is expected to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court on Monday.
The 23-year-old man was arrested by members of the police flying squad and crime intelligence on Friday at Phase 5 in Turflaagte, Mangaung.
The arrest follows the murder of 73-year-old Hendrik Knoetze. Knoetze’s neighbour discovered his body at his home in Pellissier earlier this week after not been seen for some days.
He was found in a sitting position against his fridge in his kitchen, with his hands and feet tied together with ropes.
Free State Police spokesperson, Chaka Marope, said the suspect has been charged with murder after being brought in for questioning.
It is alleged that the suspect was known by Knoetze.
