Bloemfontein - The Free State Department of Education is to intensify relations with the police to ensure that all matric exam papers are safeguarded.
Provincial spokesperson, Howard Ndaba, says approximately 3 500 learners have already written their first paper and no irregularities were reported. He says all measures have been taken to ensure the smooth running of final exams.
Ndaba says the more than 300 exam centres in the province will constantly be monitored.
He adds that the class of 2016 is expected to pass with flying colours.
