Alleged stolen medicine found at Free State house─── CHRISTAL-LIZE MULLER 10:28 Thu, 17 Nov 2016

Welkom - Suspected stolen medicine and some electronic devices to the value of about R120 000 were confiscated by police at a house in Katleho, Thabong, yesterday.
Free State police spokesperson, Malebo Khosana, says boxes containing Anti-Retroviral tablets, bottles of cough mixture, painkillers, ointments and other medicine were found. The medicine was allegedly meant for illegal miners underground. Khosana says members of the Welkom Public Order Police (POP) Task Team received information about illegal miners occupying a house. He says upon police’s arrival at the indicated house there were two men.
Police informed the men of the purpose of their visit after which the house occupants gave them permission to search the house. During the search, the suspected stolen medicine and other items including a big plasma television set, speakers, an amplifier, a DVD player, a computer monitor, solar panels, rubber bands and electrolyte sachet drinks were found.
The suspects, a 26-year-old Zimbabwean and a 21-year-old man were arrested for the possession of suspected stolen items as they could not account for the medicine and other items confiscated. Khosana says they are expected to appear in the Welkom Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
