Bethulie - The trial of two men accused of the murder of a Smithfield doctor on his farm near Rouxville, has been postponed to next week in the Bethulie Circuit Court.

Thabang Jordaan and David Zamayo stand accused of Bennie Cilliers' murder, the attempted murder of his wife Cecilia and face counts of housebreaking and robbery. Cilliers and his wife were attacked and robbed on their farm in January. Cilliers died due to head injuries.

The men have pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Both Jordaan and Zamayo spent the day in the dock under cross-examination. The two men were the only witnesses in their own defence.

Acting judge Liza Tsatsi postponed the proceedings to Monday for final arguments.
