Marikana - North West Premier Supra Mahumapelo has welcomed the swift action of police after a suspect was arrested in the mob killing of a man in Marikana.
The incident happened just days after Mahumapelo rolled out the second phase of the Provincial Government’s Reconciliation, Healing and Renewal programme at Wonderkop near Marikana. This program is aimed at addressing violent crime statistics in communities in the province.
According to the police the man was attacked by a group of people, this weekend, who were armed with sharp objects and pangas. He died as a result of his injuries and the motive for the attack is still unknown.
Mahumapelo condemned the attack.
