Students prepare for the 2017 academic year─── 06:38 Tue, 24 Jan 2017

Bloemfontein - Prospective students have started flocking to Institutions of Higher Education to register & OFM News spoke to some first-year and senior students at the University of the Free State on their readiness to start the 2017 academic year.
“I am very excited for this year, even though I am very aware that it is going to be a tough year. We just had a Maths class that bridges the gap between high school and university, and it was quite challenging,” said Ruan Labuschagne.
Jason Wilson, first-year engineering student, said he is looking forward to meeting new people.
“I am definitely looking forward to 2017. I think 2016 was quite a tough year for all the students with messy strike sessions. We are looking forward to 2017,” said 3rd-year Occupational Therapy student, Tihani Crous.
Senior students also had some survival tips to share.
“I advise them to concentrate and to pay attention to their studies,” said Nthabiseng Mohale. Crous further advised them to find a balance between their studies and social life.
