Bloemfontein - Two children are in a critical condition in a Bloemfontein hospital, after a taxi veered off the road this afternoon crashing into four pedestrians in Dr Belcher Road, Heidedal.
Netcare 911 spokesperson, Chris Botha, says besides the two critically injured children, two others escaped with minor injuries.
“They were treated at the scene by various paramedics and then transported to a provincial hospital where they are receiving care. At the moment we can’t disclose the type of injuries they sustained. They have to go through the hospital process first and get x-rays to determine the severity of the injuries. But both of them were in a critical condition,” says Botha.
A 45-year-old man was arrested at the scene and will appear in court soon on charges of drunk and wreckless driving.
