Prayer service to be held for slain Kby police | News Article

Kimberley - A short prayer service will be held today for the colleagues of the police officers killed and injured during a shooting incident involving an ex-cop in the Kimberley city centre yesterday afternoon.

Police officers gave chase to an ex-cop in his car after he was denied entrance to the police's provincial office where his wife is an employee. Police spokesperson, Mohale Ramatseba, says the ex-cop and his wife allegedly had marital problems and he wanted to attack her. In the shooting which ensued, the former officer killed one officer on the scene and injured two others. One of the injured officers later died in hospital. The ex-cop was killed after the police retaliated.

Ramatseba says the service organised by the police's employee health and wellness division is at noon at the Kimberley Police Station.
