Dozens of children injured in KZN crash─── 14:33 Fri, 26 Aug 2016
Umbumbulu - At least 50 children, aged between 15 and 18, were injured this afternoon after a school bus rolled down an embankment off the R603 in Umbumbulu, KwaZulu-Natal.
ER24 paramedics, along with various services, arrived on the scene and found the bus lying on its roof down a small embankment. Most of the children had already climbed out of the vehicle and made their way up to the roadside.
On further assessment, paramedics discovered that approximately 50 patients had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Fortunately, no fatalities have yet been reported on the scene.
Paramedics from various services began treating the patients and transporting them to various hospitals for urgent treatment.
The exact cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
