Goodwood - Former Proteas cricketer, Thami Tsolekile, is to make representations to the prosecuting authorities for the withdrawal of an assault charge that he faces.

The Goodwood District Court was informed of this on Monday, when he made his third appearance before Magistrate Sean Lea since his arrest on September 8.

Prosecutor Moosa Adonis alleges that he grabbed a teenage boy by the chest, and slapped his face the day before his arrest.

During Monday’s proceedings, defence advocate, Mafu Masina, told the court that he would lodge written representations with the Western Cape Directorate for Public Prosecutions, on Tsolekile’s behalf, for the withdrawal of the charge.

The case was postponed to November 30, for the outcome of the representations.
