Johannesburg – Former public protector, Advocate Thuli Madonsela, never chose the TV channel in her offices, she told reporters on Tuesday evening.
"I had nothing to do with what channel was being watched," she said.
This was in stark contrast to her successor, Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane, who reportedly had the channels changed from eNCA to Gupta-owned ANN7 when she took office on October 17.
Madonsela said she remembered walking down the passage in her offices one day and found the channel was on eNCA.
"We never even asked who decided it’s eNCA," she said.
She said the screens were initially put up so staff could stay informed about current affairs and breaking news.
The three-storey building housing the Public Protector’s Office has several television sets, allowing just a single feed.
