The Sharks prop, Coenie Oosthuizen, will join the Springboks on Wednesday in Port Elizabeth as an extra front row cover following the withdrawal of Trevor Nyakane, who is struggling with an ankle injury.

The experienced Oosthuizen was called up to the Bok camp to cover the loosehead and tighthead positions.

Nyakane hurt his ankle last Saturday in the Boks’ win over Ireland in the second Castle Lager Incoming Series Test played in Johannesburg.

The 27-year-old Oosthuizen has earned 23 Springbok caps to date and recently played for the SA ‘A’ side in their two-match series against the England Saxons.

The Springboks have a training-free day on Wednesday, apart from a variety of #LoveRugby activations in the morning. The Bok team to face Ireland in the deciding third Test this Saturday at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, will be named on Thursday.

The expected Springbok side for the 3rd Test against Ireland – 15 Willie le Roux, 14 Ruan Combrinck, 13 Lionel Mapoe, 12 Damian de Allende, 11 JP Pietersen, 10 Elton Jantjies, 9 Faf de Klerk, 8 Warren Whiteley, 7 Siya Kolisi, 6 Francois Louw, 5 Pieter-Steph du Toit, 4 Eben Etzebeth, Frans Malherbe, 2 Adriaan Strauss (captain), 1 Tendai Mtawarira.

Replacements – 16 Bongi Mbonambi, 17 Steven Kitshoff, 18 Julian Redelinghuys, 19 Franco Mostert, 20 Jaco Kriel, 21 Rudy Paige, 22 Morné Steyn, 23 Lwazi Mvovo.
