Former Bafana Bafana player, Maimane Alfred Phiri, has reportedly been admitted to the hospital after he was shot in Alexandra.
Reports suggest 47-year-old Phiri was shot in 4th Avenue at his pub on Thursday.
The former Moroka Swallows attacker sustained injuries to his hand and leg and was rushed to hospital.
This, after an argument with his alleged attacker, turned violent.
Two other people reportedly died from gunshot wounds in the incident.
The attacker is under police guard in hospital after a suicide attempt.
Phiri is the founder of the popular Maimane Alfred Phiri games in Alex and was part of the Bafana Bafana squad that went to South Africa's first FIFA World Cup in France.
