Feature: Corporal punishment still applied at schools | News Article

Bloemfontein - South Africa banned corporal punishment in September 1997, however, the act is still being applied by some teachers at various schools across the province.

Corporal punishment involves using force to inflict pain and discomfort on a child.

Media reports have alleged that corporal punishment continues to be used by teachers, as a form of discipline, often due to everyday offences.
