Feature: PhD student transforms Jagersfontein through research─── MOEKETSI MOGOTSI 13:00 Fri, 09 Sep 2016
Bloemfontein - A Ph.D. student from the University of the Free State is using her research to make a difference in the rural town of Jagersfontein.
For a place where two of ten of the biggest diamonds in the world were discovered, it almost seems as if the town has nothing else to offer, with the mines being semi-functional for the first time in 30 years.
The Diamonds in the Rough gumboots group is a psycho-education group assembled by Lerato Machetela using elements such as education, entertainment and psychology.
