South Africa ready to face the Aussies today | News Article

South Africa and Australia resume their long standing rivalry this morning when the two sides square-up for the 1st of three T20 Internationals Down-under.

South Africa go into the match feeling confident despite losing their warm-up match to a Cricket Australia XI by 22 runs on Sunday.

The home side in their turn will be looking to set the record straight after losing the triangular ODI series in Zimbabwe to the Proteas and coming off of the back of their 2-0 Test series thumping at the hands of Pakistan in the UAE.

Proteas T20 skipper, JP Duminy feels there’s a lot to play for and it’s ideal preparation for next years’ ICC Cricket World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

The skipper added that he expects the Aussies to come hard at them in Adelaide today.

“I don’t expect anything less to be honest, Australia are a team that plays an aggressive brand of cricket and we expect that. It’s a good opportunity for us to experience that, especially with the new guys in the set-up, it will be a good contest," Duminy added.

This morning’s match at the Adelaide Oval gets underway at 10:35.
