Hunters hopeful SAA will reverse trophy decision─── SABRINA DEAN 10:55 Wed, 03 Jun 2015
Bloemfontein - The Professional Hunter’s Association of SA (PHASA) is eagerly awaiting the outcome of a meeting between the Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA)and South African Airway’s (SAA) to find out whether the airline will reverse its decision on banning the shipment of certain hunting trophies.
PHASA Chief Executive Adri Kitshoff says the emotional decision announced earlier this year by SAA has far reaching consequences for the entire hunting value chain, as well as tourism, the country’s economy and conservation:

Kitshoff says they are hopeful that the intervention by the Department of Environmental Affairs and efforts to engage with SAA will see the decision reversed. The meeting between SAA and the DEA was scheduled to take place on Tuesday afternoon.
