NWK ceases direct crop and stock farming | News Article

Bloemfontein - Agricultural Group NWK has announced a decision to cease its direct involvement in crop and stock farming, with plans to terminate these activities as soon as possible.

Managing Director Danie Marais says timing played a big role as the geographic region in which the subsidiaries NWK Boerdery and Kalahari Beef operate has been hard hit by drought and other challenges over the last few years.

He says other highlights include the Epko/Louis Dreyfus Commodities partnership, the purchase of Empangeni Mills in Natal, as well as several other initiatives still in the planning stages.
