Wool flies in sheep shearing championships─── SABRINA DEAN 14:00 Tue, 28 Apr 2015
Bloemfontein - The wool was quite literally off as the country’s best sheep shearers showed their stuff during the annual SA Sheep Shearing Federation’s (SSF) National Championships at Bloem Show at the weekend.
Federation Chairperson Hendrik Botha says the SA SSF is a sporting body associated with Sascoc. He says as a recognised sport, competitors can also be awarded national colours.
Participants compete across several different age groups in blade, machine and wool handling categories.
He says South Africa produces some of the best sheep shearers in the world:

The SA champs for this year were Isaac Ndlongwane, first in the SA machine class, Tom Mthandazo who placed first in the SA wool handling class and Hans Zweliwile who was first in the SA blade class.
