Bloemfontein - Poultry roleplayers from across the world descend on Emperor’s Palace in Johannesburg this week for Avi Africa 2015, the SA Poultry Association’s (SAPA) annual conference and exhibition.
SAPA CEO Kevin Lovell says Trade and Industry Minister Rob Davies is billed as the keynote speaker, with this year’s event presented under the theme “Better Together As Partners”:

Lovell says some of the issues on the agenda range from poultry diseases, input costs, management issues, poultry welfare, trade matters and economic outlook and more. The event also serves as a platform for the AGMs of the Broiler Organisation, the Developing Poultry Farmer’s Organisation, the Chick Producer’s Organisation and the Egg Organisation.
Commenting on the state of the poultry industry, Lovell says it is relatively stable at present but warns the impact of the drought is likely to be felt in future:

The conference comes to an end on Thursday. Lovell says they are expecting 1800 to 1900 delegates over the three day event.
