FS govt announces acting Agriculture MEC─── SABRINA DEAN 17:45 Fri, 13 Mar 2015
Bloemfontein - The Free State government has announced that Cooperative Governance, Traditional Affairs and human Settlements MEC Olly Mlamleli will also serve as acting MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development until such time as a new MEC is appointed.
This comes after the post was left vacant when incumbent Agriculture MEC Mamiki Qabathe was this week elected as Speaker of the Free State Legislature.
Provincial agriculture communications manager Zimasa Leputla says Mlamleli was yesterday tasked with overseeing the department by Premier Ace Magashule.
She says it is not yet clear when the new Agriculture MEC will be announced.
