False land claims highlighted in FS legislature─── 16:47 Wed, 17 Jun 2015
Bloemfontein - The Free State Legislature has heard that although the reopening of land claims is an entirely legal process, prospective claimants are not being properly informed that false claims are illegal.
This in reaction to provincial agriculture MEC Mosebenzi Zwane’s statement in legislature saying satellite offices have been serving long queues of people since the claims process reopened.
Mosebenzi also told legislature that a member of the opposition party has been intimidating people at the claims office but DA MPL Roy Jankielsohn says this is not the case. OFM News’ senior political reporter Cathy Dlodlo is at the legislature and filed this report:

The second round of land claims began in July last year and is set to continue until 30 June 2019, with thousands of new claims lodged within the first month.
According to a fact sheet by the Commission on Restitution of Land Claims, about 80 000 claims were submitted by the December 1998 cut-off date for the first round of land claims.
