Bloemfontein - Kaizer Chiefs are believed to have a bid lined up for the services of Bloemfontein Celtic striker, Frank Mhango to bolster the squad for the 2014/15 season.

With Knowledge Musona’s future uncertain and Bernard Parker out injured, the Amakhosi are looking to strengthen their front line with another striker, and it seems they have their hopes pinned on Mhango.

Musona, whose loan contract with Chiefs ended at the conclusion of last season, will likely return to his parent club, German’s TSG Hoffenheim, despite Amakhosi’s desires to keeping him in Naturena.

The 24-year-old Zimbabwean would only remain in South Africa should overseas move not materialise.

Meanwhile, Parker has been ruled out for three to four months in order to recover from an ankle injury and is set to miss Chiefs’ opening matches.

As it stands, Amakhosi only have Kingston Nkhatha, Katlego Mphela and Mathew Rusike as striking options, and are targeting the 21-year-old following his successful debut season with the Bloemfontein side.

The Celtics’ Malawian striker netted eight league goals in his debut season with the club, and went to clinch the club's top goal scorer as well as the Player’s Player of the season awards.

Celtic CEO, Khumbulani Konco, however, has denied reports linking the speedy forward to the Soweto giants.

Meanwhile, Chiefs are yet to finalise Siphelele Mthembu's deal, although the player has already agreed to rejoin them from Platinum Stars.

Siwelele are likely to retain Musa Nyatama permanently from Mamelodi Sundowns after Celtic had indicated their desire to keep the midfielder, who returned to Chloorkop after his loan spell expired at the end of the season.

Celtic have returned for pre-season preparations and will participate in the inaugural Charity Showdown tournament on July 19 alongside hosts Wits, Amazulu and Black Aces. The tournament will take place at Wits Stadium.
