Bloemfontein - Roses United have bolstered the squad for the upcoming 2014/15 football season with the signing of the three experienced strikers, including the former Bloemfontein Celtic duo of Lethola Mofokeng and Siyabonga Nontshinga.
Mofokeng and Nontshinga played for Phunya Sele Sele under the former coach, Clinton Larsen, who now coaches, Roses.
Larsen said he is happy to have the duo back at his disposal.
“I‘m sure they’ll do well for the team. They’re experienced and have the capabilities, so I’m happy with my signings so far,” Larsen told OFM Sport.
Roses also signed the former Free State Stars marksman, Tebello Mofokeng.
“We have also signed youngsters to bring much need balance in the team. We’re just awaiting their clearances and we‘ll announce their names,” he added.
“I’ve made all my signings and am satisfied. We’re looking to sign young players at the moment. My squad is almost settled; probably about 95%, but we’re just looking to sign three more under 21 players,” Larsen added.
Roses are still uncertain of where they will be playing next season as they are awaiting the decision by South African Football Association and the Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Committee regarding the case filed against Baroka FC.
Baroka’s goalkeeper, Veli Mothwa, who signed contracts with Polokwane City and Baroka, was found guilty by the Disciplinary Committee, but appealed the decision.
Should Baroka be found guilty, they will automatically be relegated to the SAFA Second Division and Roses will move back up to the National Football Division.
